On most EdminBoost configuration pages you will see two buttons at the bottom:
- Save — stores what is on that page
- Reset to defaults — puts the form back to factory values for that page
Saving does not reload the whole site. After a successful save you should see a short success message on the page.
Pages that use Save and Reset
Save and Reset appear on:
- Theme (Appearance)
- Top Bar
- Layout Presets
- Menu Studio
- Productivity
- Security
- Performance
- White Label
Pages without this pair
- Billing — information only; nothing to save
- Settings — backup and import use their own buttons (Export settings / Import settings), not Save and Reset
The Dashboard overview can save layout and theme picks from the overview cards without using the same footer on every view. The first-time setup wizard has its own Next / Back / Finish flow.
Important: Reset is not the same as Save
Reset to defaults only changes what you see on the screen. It does not write to the database by itself.
After you reset:
- Review the form.
- Click Save if you want those default values stored permanently.
If you reset by mistake, cancel the confirmation or refresh the page without saving to keep your stored settings.
How Reset works (in plain terms)
When you confirm Reset, EdminBoost reloads that tab with default values filled in. Your saved settings in the database stay as they were until you click Save.
Switching tabs without saving
The Command Center tab bar can load another EdminBoost page without a full browser reload. If you changed fields but did not save, those unsaved changes may be lost when you leave the tab. Save before switching if you want to keep your edits.
Tips
- Change one area at a time (for example Theme, then Menu Studio) so it is easier to see what you changed.
- Small (i) icons next to some fields show short help when you hover or focus them.
- Partial saves from Command Center pages keep EdminBoost active; they do not turn off the whole plugin.
