EdminBoost → Menu Studio. Customize left admin menu: reorder, hide, custom links, layout/typography, sidebar colors. Runs only when Enable Menu Studio is on.
ENABLE
- Open Menu Studio.
- Enable Menu Studio.
- Configure canvas, layout, colors.
- Save (_menu_studio_save marker).
When disabled, default WordPress menu order applies (other plugins may still alter menus).
BUILDER
Discovered menu, canvas order, hide → hidden_items slugs.
Protected (cannot hide): Dashboard index.php, Plugins plugins.php, EdminBoost root page.
CUSTOM SIDEBAR LINKS
Label, path (admin or URL, # allowed), icon, optional parent for submenu. Slugs like edminboost_ms_{id}. Custom links may be Pro-gated on premium Free; full on WordPress.org. Custom items preserved when presets/role assignments replace other sidebar settings.
LAYOUT & TYPOGRAPHY
Menu width (~120–300 px), font size (~10–24), line height (~12–36), letter spacing (~-2 to 6), display mode (icons+text, icons only, text only — display mode may be Pro-gated on premium Free). Padding fields for wrapper and submenu. Live layout preview.
SIDEBAR COLORS
Parent/submenu backgrounds, text, hover, active, notification tones. Overrides theme sidebar when Menu Studio colors active.
ROLE / PRESETS
Role assignments load preset sidebar baseline. Visibility matrix adds per-role hides. Capabilities still gate page access; hiding only removes menu entry.
When active: edminboost-admin-menu.css, body classes edminboost-menu-studio-active, -colors, -display–{both|icon|text}.
Applying layout preset on Layouts/Dashboard replaces menu_studio baseline on that save — save custom preset first if needed.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Changes not visible → Enable toggle saved; cache; conflicting menu plugins. Custom link 404 → Valid admin path/URL. Colors wrong → Menu Studio overrides theme sidebar. Order resets after preset → Re-order and save; custom links should still merge back.
