EdminBoost → Top Bar. Visual builder for shortcuts on the WordPress admin bar. Each item: redirect (normal navigation) or drawer (slide-out iframe panel).
PREREQUISITES
EdminBoost enabled; user logged in with admin bar showing; at least one saved top bar item for bar to render. Items respect capabilities and role visibility.
BUILDER
- Discovered links — searchable admin/plugin menu list. Drag to canvas or click row to toggle.
- Canvas — ordered active items. Drag to reorder; select to edit in side panel.
Search plugins and menus filters discovered list.
ITEM FIELDS
Slug/path — e.g. edit.php, woocommerce, or full http(s) URL. Anchor — optional fragment without #; unique per slug+anchor. Label — admin bar and drawer title. Icon — dashicon. Interaction — Redirect or Drawer (Drawer may be Pro-gated on premium Free; full on WordPress.org). Badge source — optional live counter.
Custom admin link: path, label, anchor; query strings and # allowed; no duplicate slug+anchor.
DRAWER
Opens #edminboost-cc-drawer; iframe with stripped admin chrome; nonce + whitelist on loads. May load on front end when admin bar visible and drawer items exist.
PANEL & BADGES (below canvas; disabled until at least one Drawer item)
Drawer width: Compact, Standard, Fullscreen, Custom (400–800 px). Animation speed: Fast ~150ms, Normal ~300ms, Slow ~500ms. Badge style: Dot, Pill, Accent. Glassmorphism, badge refresh rate (15–600 s), autosave interval (10–600 s).
Preview drawer on selected drawer item (admin + nonce).
LIVE BADGES (local data only)
None; WooCommerce unread orders; WooCommerce pending reviews; WordPress pending comments; WordPress available updates; WPForms unread entries (when WPForms active).
SAVING
Top Bar Save always replaces top_bar_items (empty canvas clears top bar). Other CC pages do not overwrite top bar without the layout studio save marker.
