Checklist
- Install & activate EdminBoost
- Open EdminBoost → Dashboard (setup wizard appears on first run)
- Step 1 — Layout: Pick a preset matching your site (e.g. Client’s Website for a client build, or Administrator for a role-focused workflow)
- Step 2 — Theme: Choose a color skin and light/dark mode
- Step 3 — Top bar: Review shortcuts; note which links open directly vs. in a drawer (Pro feature on commercial plans)
- Step 4 — Review & save: Click Save and launch
- Verify: Reload any wp-admin page — confirm top bar links and theme styling
- Optional — Menu Studio: Reorder or hide sidebar items (EdminBoost → Menu Studio)
- Optional — Features: Enable tools on Productivity, Security, or Performance tabs
After the wizard (recommended next steps)

Save behavior
- Wizard save uses the WordPress Settings API (
options.php) with AJAX fallback - Layout preset apply replaces both top bar items and Menu Studio config from the preset
- Always click Save (or Save and launch in the wizard) — tab switches on other CC pages can auto-save Dashboard overview picks, but new users should complete the wizard save first
Success criteria
You’re done when:
- EdminBoost Dashboard shows overview cards (not the wizard)
- Your chosen shortcuts appear in the WordPress top admin bar
- wp-admin reflects your selected visual theme
- (Optional) Sidebar matches your preset in Menu Studio
