Goal: Hub active → one client connected → panel verified → first run pushed. Time: ~15–30 minutes per site.
Step 1 — Install the hub
- On your agency WordPress site: Plugins → Add New → search ChecklistDek → Install → Activate.
Or upload the plugin folder to/wp-content/plugins/and activate. - After activation, the onboarding wizard may open on the dashboard (or go to ChecklistDek in the admin menu).
Step 2 — Create or import a checklist
Option A — Template
- ChecklistDek → Checklists → Templates tab.
- Pick a category, choose a template → Use Checklist.
- Adjust steps in My Checklists if needed → Save.
Option B — Onboarding paste
- On the dashboard wizard Step 1, paste a plain-text SOP or Start from a template.
- Continue to site connection in Step 2.
Option C — Blank
- Checklists → My Checklists → Start Blank → add steps → Save.
Step 3 — Connect a client site
- On the client site: Users → Profile → Application Passwords → create a password (copy it once).
- On the hub: ChecklistDek → Sites → Add site → name, URL, username, Application Password → Save → Test connection.
- Fix any errors (wrong URL, REST blocked, invalid password) before continuing.
Step 4 — Install the client panel
- In the site editor (or onboarding), open Client checklist panel setup.
- Download
checklistdek-client.phpand upload the full client bundle towp-content/mu-plugins/on the client site (create the folder if needed). - On the hub, click Retry panel install until the site shows the panel as detected.
- Pro hub: panel may auto-deploy when you save or test a site with valid credentials—still verify status in the UI.
Step 5 — Push your first run
- Sites → row actions → Push Checklist, or Batch Run → Run Checklist.
- Choose checklist and site → start the run.
- On the client wp-admin, open the checklist panel and complete a manual step.
- On the hub, confirm progress in Batch Run or the dashboard activity feed.

Local hubs (MAMP, Local, etc.)
Local hubs work. The plugin can fall back to ?rest_route= when permalinks break on local client sites. Use real URLs the client site can reach if hub and client are on different machines.
Uninstalling the hub
Uninstalling removes hub tables, options, run history, and custom capabilities. It does not remove the mu-plugin on client sites—you delete those files manually. Export checklists before uninstall if you need archives.
