Built-in templates are JSON checklists shipped with the plugin—security, launch, SEO, ecommerce, maintenance, compliance, troubleshooting, and more (full count depends on Community vs Pro package).
Browse templates
- ChecklistDek → Checklists → Templates (default tab).
- Filter by category or use search across titles, descriptions, and step text.
- Select a card → preview steps → Use Checklist.
That clones the template into My Checklists and opens the builder.
Agency vault (Pro)
Pro builds can store private vault templates separate from the public built-in grid. Community builds omit the vault UI.
Template vs custom checklist
| Built-in template | My Checklist | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Shipped JSON | You create or clone |
| Updates | Hub may sync new slugs on upgrade | You edit and save |
| Export | Yes, from builder | Yes |
Build
The My Checklists tab uses a three-column builder: step list (canvas), step settings (sidebar), live client panel preview.
Create a checklist
- Templates → Use Checklist, Start Blank, or Import JSON.
- Pick the checklist from My Checklists dropdown.
- Edit title and description.
- Add, reorder (drag), and configure steps.
- Save.
Step types
Manual steps
- Title and instructions for humans.
- Optional target roles (who may complete on the client site).
- Optional deep link (wp-admin path); the builder can infer links from title/API config.
- Show note field / Show screenshot field for client evidence.
API steps (automation)
- Call WordPress core REST on the remote site (e.g. read or update settings).
- Hub exclude options strip sensitive settings fields from mutating payloads.
- Use Validate step in the builder before relying on automation in production.
Builder tips
- Use the preview column to see how clients will see the panel.
- Client panel title in the sidebar can auto-save to hub settings.
- Import / Export JSON for backups and sharing between hubs.
Auto-Capture (Pro)
Checklists → Auto-Capture records admin actions on a connected site into draft steps (settings changes, plugin toggles, etc.). Import Captured Steps sends them into the builder. User-initiated only—not background spyware.
