| Data collection | Trustbadg does not send site or visitor data to external servers. No analytics or tracking in the free plugin. |
| Retain data on uninstall | Off by default. When off, deleting the plugin removes all settings, badge sets, and metadata. Turn on to keep your data if you plan to reinstall or switch between Free and Pro. |
Important: Custom icons uploaded to the Media Library always stay in the Media Library, even when uninstall cleanup runs.
Import & export
Location: Same Privacy tab, below the privacy options.

| Download export file | Downloads a JSON backup of all Trustbadg settings and badge sets (including design, icons, placements, and metadata). |
| Import file | Restores settings and badge sets from a previously exported JSON file. |
Use cases:
- Move Trustbadg config from staging to production
- Back up before upgrading Free → Pro or Pro → Free
- Restore after a site migration
Tip: Enable Retain data on uninstall before replacing plugin files during a Pro upgrade, in case you accidentally delete instead of deactivate.
