Location: Trustbadg Badges → Settings
Four tabs control site-wide defaults. Badge design and where badges appear on specific pages are configured separately under Badge Sets.
Click Save Changes at the bottom after editing General, Display, or Badges. Privacy and Import/Export have their own controls on the Privacy tab.
General
What it does: Turns Trustbadg on or off for your whole site.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable Trustbadg | Master switch. When off, automatic placements stop showing. Blocks and shortcodes you placed manually may still appear. |
When to use it: Disable temporarily while troubleshooting, or when you only want badges in specific spots via the block or shortcode—not site-wide automatic placements.
Tip: Disabling Trustbadg does not delete your badge sets or settings.
Display defaults
What it does: Sets fallback alignment and icon size when a badge set does not define its own.
| Setting | Options | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Default alignment | Left, Center, Right | Default horizontal alignment for badge sets. |
| Icon size | Small, Medium, Large | Default icon size. Matches the Gutenberg block size attribute. |
What this does not control: Automatic placements. Those are set per badge set on the Placement tab in the badge set editor—not here.
Note: Older sites may still have legacy placement data stored from earlier versions. That data is preserved automatically but is no longer editable in Settings.
Badges (default badge set)
What it does: Chooses which badge set Trustbadg uses when automatic placements run but no specific set is assigned to that location.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Default badge set | Pick a published badge set, or — None — to show nothing automatically. |
When it applies:
- Any automatic placement (product page, checkout, homepage, etc.) that does not have its own badge set assigned
- Pro geo-targeting fallback: when visitor country is unknown, regional payment icons fall back to icons selected in this default set
Before you set this: Create at least one badge set under Trustbadg Badges → Badge Sets. Use the visual builder (Content, Design, Placement tabs—and Targeting & Rules on Pro).
Per-product override (WooCommerce): On any product edit screen, the Trustbadg Badge Set sidebar box lets you override the default for that product only.
